For the past decade I have been on a solitary spiritual journey. First it was to seek my own truth which meant I absorbed many beliefs and ideas I came across, and put lots back down understanding that they were not right for me.

Before we begin, here are some things that have made me who I am today…

When I was a little girl I loved to play with fairies on the big rock behind my grandparents house. I was mischievous, playful, and loved to live in the magic I saw all around. I found the “real world” difficult to understand and be part of.

As many do, I turned off the magic in an attempt to fit into society. The longer I ignored the whispers of my soul the harder it was to hear my intuition, to know who I really was. With a difficult home life, I often felt invisible or like a chameleon.

By 18-years old I had long since moved out on my own and married my first was-band. He was abusive and cruel. After a couple years I finally escaped and went into hiding. In my mid-twenties I married again (I have always dreamed of true love) and had the son I had always hoped for. By my late twenties I would be a single mom, and starting from scratch once again.

My thirties were a wonderful decade! I met my soul-mate, blended our families and lived a life I had always dreamed of with a thriving career and beautiful home. I thought my life was close to perfect!

In 2017, at the age of 42, my life would abruptly change due to multiple concussions over a fourteen month period – I write more about this in my blog, Coming Through the Darkness. I would try to go back to work over and over until finally being put on long term disability six months after the first concussion. This would catapult my spiritual journey. Through exploration with a curious mind and an undying hope to heal the grief of losing myself, I continue daily to search for the meaning of life – all of it, mine, yours, ours – for there is purpose if we learn how to look.

Thank you for joining me on this journey as I become the Awakening Light.

Brightest of blessings,

Dawn xo
