Why am I such a nag about meditation?

Many people come to meditation because it is recommended by a doctor of some form to help alleviate an issue such as stress, anxiety, depression, PTSD, or a physical illness. The question though, is why?

I can give you way too many facts, and reference far too many studies, which would probably cause you to tune me out! (I will give tidbits here and there at other times)

So, here is how I see it

Ever leave an interaction with someone and think, I need a shower!

Meditation is like taking a shower on the inside. Everyday-ish we bathe the outside, our physical body, we rinse off the residue of the day, the film and dirt. But how do we rinse the residue of our daily mental and emotional experiences?

What is stress? First, we need to understand that it is now linked to EVERY disease. And the basis of all stress is unprocessed mental and emotional energy which we experience as beliefs, judgements, and expectations. These all make up our energy body known as our Subtle Body.

Meditation is relaxed alertness, unlike deep sleep which is relaxed dullness. In meditation the physical and subtle bodies relax, releasing excess physical, mental and emotional energy. In this state we notice, or become aware of, patterns. In this awareness we can begin to let go, and instead, make conscious choices. It is literally a shower for our subtle body.

Now you understand the adage, Cleanliness is next to Godliness.

SHOWER UP my friends!

Brightest of blessings,

Dawn xo
