I spend much of my time contemplating and unravelling what we are. This is not about knowing or intellect, but about understanding so that I can let go. So that I can experience inner peace.
This morning I was reading about impermanence, anything that changes. All of life as we experience it is impermanent, all action is change. When we identify with an action body, mind, emotion, senses – we are identifying as our ego. Ego is our individualization the wave vs the ocean. When we are living from ego there must be a level of separation.
All energies of actions are tools of the artist. These instruments can create chaos or beauty depending on who is doing the creating ego or Consciousness.
Imagine the mind is a yo-yo. When you don’t know how to work it, you can lose control. It unwinds, smashes into things, you run around cleaning up its mess and fixing its string. But with practice, you can learn to manipulate it. Even here there is choice. Do you aim it towards something with the intention to harm? Or do you play, creating laughter and joy?
You are not your mind. Your mind is like the sky, a backdrop. We experience storm clouds of anger or fear when ego is in charge. When we practice and focus on the stillness within, the mind begins to calm, the sky clears.
fear of being alone with your thoughts
Many people are afraid to meditate. They say, I don’t want to be alone with myself. What is really being said is, my ego is in charge, and it is a bully, it is evil and cruel. I would rather focus on the outer world than spend time with it.
Gandhi once said, evil has no existence of its own, we support it; that is why it exists. Evil will cease to exist if we withdraw our support. We can only do this through awareness. We must become aware so that we can choose, everyday, who we are going to be, what we are going to support.
My wish today is to be a warrior of peace. To let go of anything that creates separation, to embrace forgiveness.
How do you want to be remembered?
Brightest of blessings,
